Job Overview
The primary role of this position is to ensure Municipal facilities are clean, disinfected and maintained to provide for a safe, enjoyable experience for the clients while preserving and protecting all properties of the Municipality of Jasper.

The start date of this position is as soon as possible with an end date of August 31, 2025 with possibility of extension.

Work performed:  

Under the direction of the Facility Manager:

Cleaning and disinfecting;
Cleaning and polishing office and lobby floors;
General cleaning, including windows, walls, doors, cabinets, desks, garbage’s and recycling;
Cleaning and sanitizing bathroom showers, floors, fixtures and countertops;
Stocking paper goods and changing light bulbs;
Follow procedures relative to building security; 
Assign work and establish priorities, train new staff and provides ongoing training/refreshers on new techniques, products, correct use of equipment and maintenance, painting, basic plumbing, and minor building maintenance;
Monitor work of other custodial staff;
Work closely with the Arena Manager for scheduling of events and programs.
This position will be specific to the Jasper Activity Centre.

Job Requirements 
Qualifications & experience:  Your resume and cover letter must clearly describe how you meet the following qualifications:

18 + years of age;
Standard First Aid/CPR Award;
Ability to lift 20 kg;
Previous janitorial experience, training/experience in variety of janitorial techniques and Class 5 driver’s license all considered assets;
Act as an ambassador for the Community Development department, Municipality of Jasper, Council & Staff;
Excellent verbal/written communication skills;
Ability to operate janitorial equipment;
Ability to deal effectively with the public and co-workers;
Ability to work without direct supervision;
A team player;
Ability to multitask;
Knowledge in the refinishing techniques on floor and wall surfaces;
W.H.M.I.S training and/or certificate.
