Reports To: Terrain Park Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor
Position Overview
The Terrain Park Attendant works as part of the Terrain Park team. They are responsible for the regular maintenance of park features through raking, shoveling and testing as well as maintenance of terrain park fences and signage. They are also responsible for assisting Ski Patrol in responding to emergencies and accidents while adhering to correct Marmot Basin procedures.

The incumbent should expect to be working outside in any, all and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
This is a full-time seasonal role, 5 days out of 7 per week.

Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Execute opening and closing procedures daily
Maintain park features through regular raking, shoveling and testing
Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 55 pounds
Snowfarming
Record and complete daily safety checks and observations
Perform regular maintenance of terrain park fences and signage
Control skier and rider traffic passing near, in, and around work zones and terrain park features
Execute all job duties and responsibilities in accordance with Ski Marmot Basin’s Terrain Park Training Manual, ski industry best practices and company policies/procedures
Protect the health and safety of self and others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately
Report and respond to accidents in the Terrain Parks, provide assistance to Safety Ops with accident procedures, and complete Terrain Park related incident reports.

Respect and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures as set in the “Corporate Policies”, “Employee Handbook” and “Terrain Park Training Manuals”
Understand and adhere to Ski Marmot Basin’s “Harassment Policy” and the company’s “Privacy Policy”.

Qualifications:
Physically fit and able to ski/snowboard with heavy loads
Ability to perform strenuous physical labour
Capable of working outside, at times in severe weather conditions
Advanced skier/snowboarder; freestyle ski or snowboard experience is an asset
Ski industry, customer service and/or terrain park experience is an asset
Ability to work alone or as a group, demonstrate initiative and a positive attitude
Risk management experience
First aid experience
Snowcat experience

Core Competencies:

Professional deportment with excellent customer service skills: experience dealing with all on-hill patrons
Cheerful, outgoing personality; demonstrated temperament and disposition for highly stressful situations
Able to ski in all types of mountain terrain in varying conditions & ride all Terrain Park features for the purpose of testing for safety at all ability levels
Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
