RMSI-JTAC 1 Marmot Rd, Jasper, AB Full-time RMSI-JTAC 1 Marmot Rd, Jasper, AB Job details Job type Full-time Location 1 Marmot Rd, Jasper, AB Title Transportation Supervisor Reports To Mountain Manager/Mountain Operations Supervisor Position Overview: The Transportation Supervisor works as part of the Mountain Operations team. He/She is responsible for all aspects of the Transportation department including recruiting/training new parking staff and bus drivers, ensuring all Transportation staff are competent in Marmot Basin’s procedures and policies, coordinating Transportation needs with other departments, and generally overseeing the daily departmental requirements including all Parking, Group and Staff Transportation. The Transportation Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining records and documents such as commercial driver files, snow removal logs, employee training files, etc. The incumbent should expect to be working outside in any, all and sometimes adverse weather conditions. This is a full-time role, 5/7 days per week. Work schedule may be negotiable. The first 90 working days of employment is a probationary period. Job Duties: Oversee all aspects of the Transportation department including Parking, daily Staff transportation and Group transportation Ensure employee effectiveness through strategic hiring, assignment of duties, training, discipline, and dismissal Handle daily garbage collection and disposal for the lower chalet outdoor areas and parking lots Organize pickup schedule for the food garbage compactor Ensure parking signs and roadway signs are current and located as required Ensure all public areas around the Lower Chalet are kept clean and free of snow/ice Ensure vehicles in all areas are parked as efficiently as possible Ensure a smooth and orderly flow of traffic coming up to the ski area and leaving the ski area Responsible for recording vehicle count each day (approximately 12:30 pm) Keep a daily log of any snow removal Responsible for the daily town run Handle customer complaints and comments Courteous support with other staff members Assist in emergency situations Update the “Transportation Training Manual” as required Responsible in updating the Transportation Hazard Assessment at the start of every ski season Assist the Mountain Manager & Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the NSC files for all Marmot drivers Assist the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining vehicle trip inspections in all commercial vehicles. Assist the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to ensure registration cards, insurance documentation & CVIP are current in all Marmot vehicles Responsible in collecting all pertinent information when a vehicle accident has occurred. This must be coordinated with the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor. Completed paperwork must be submitted to the Mountain Manager Report all damage or problems with company vehicles to the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor Maintain all payroll duties for the Transportation department Organize schedules/drivers for staff, guests and special groups Maintain shift schedules for parking staff & guest shuttle drivers to ensure sufficient employee coverage Responsible for submitting yearly budget amendments to Mountain Operations Adhere to the budget guidelines. All expenditures must be approved by the Mountain Manager. Supplemental: Respect and adherence to the company’s policies and procedures as set in the “Corporate Policies”, Employee Handbook” and “Transportation Training Manual” Understand and adhere to Ski Marmot Basin’s “Harassment Policy” and the company’s “Privacy Policy”. Qualifications: Strong team leadership skills with good problem-solving skills Good organizational skills/ability to multi-task Excellent communication skills Capable of working outside, at times in severe weather Able to lift 55+ pounds Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports Must be able to work flexible shifts Valid Alberta Class 2 driver’s license with “S-Endorsement” Ability and willingness to help other departments where required.
