Our Career & Employment Coaches are responsible for helping people connect to employment opportunities, generating leads, building and maintaining relationships in the business community and being knowledgeable on local labour market trends.

What will you do?

Conduct initial client assessments, develop and implement action plans that will best meet client needs
Deliver one-on-one or small group workshops virtually or in-person on resume or cover letter writing, interview preparation, online applications, job search strategies, career/education planning, etc.
Support clients from all walks of life with any barriers to employment throughout their unique job search
Provide clients with ongoing support and coaching throughout the job search process
Utilize solution-focused counselling framework to maximize the effectiveness of interventions
Accurate case management of all clients including maintaining detailed records, writing reports, client follow-up, and various administrative duties
Enter and maintain client data via the online (Mobius) database
Keep up to date with Jasper’s labour market needs and emerging trends
Submit monthly reports and client information necessary for billing
Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of clients
Maintain strict confidentiality of client files and personal information
Identify when clients require alternate resources or community supports, making referrals as necessary
Previous experience working with persons with disabilities or multiple barriers is an asset
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in career counselling, social work, teaching, or other related experience
Ability to build rapport and deal effectively with a challenging and diverse client base
A genuine interest in and respect for people from all walks of life
Patience, understanding, and the ability to listen non-judgmentally
Ability to motivate and inspire clients
Ability to build relationships with agencies, service providers, employers, and clients
Ability to manage sensitive information and adhere to strict confidentiality protocols
Ability to make sound decisions and handle changing priorities
Positive and professional attitude both inside and outside the organization
Must enjoy consulting with people, compiling information, and working with clients to develop innovative solutions.
Knowledge of employment barriers, community resources, and employment-related training
Welcomes and promotes a team atmosphere
On-the-job training
Ongoing professional development opportunities will be offered to enhance skills and competencies
Collaborate with other employment coach and staff members of JEEC

Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
