Rate of Pay: Starting at $16.20 per hour. Full rate after one year is $18.51 per hour.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Grounds Superintendent, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
Maintain flower beds, landscape plantings both indoor & outdoor
Mow, trim, water all turf areas of resort
Prepare landscape areas for repair or construction
Clean the property - litter, animal waste, recycling, hazard trees and yard debris
Plant, fertilize and pesticide usage on a periodic basis
Assist irrigation technician when necessary
Operate power tools and equipment while using proper personal protective equipment
Hand shovel & sweep steps, paths & walkways throughout the Resort
Assist the florist, with preparation and delivery of flowers
Clean building exteriors and special capital improvement projects
Decorate Hotel for holiday events such as Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years
Maintain skating rinks and curling sheet during the winter
Following all safety and sanitation policies
Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
Other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include:

Valid Alberta Driver’s License required
Previous experience in Landscape/Gardening an asset
Machine operating experience an asset: snowplow, grader & blade, bobcat, john deere tractors 5200, 670, 855 & 3320
CPR and First Aid Certificates an asset
Ability to work outdoors in various elements such as rain, heat & snow required
Excellent physical condition required
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Your team and working environment:

Sitting: 0-4 hr/day
Walking: 6-8 hr/day
Standing: 6-8 hr/day
Bending/reaching: 4-8 hr/day
Pushing/pushing: 4-8 hr/day
Physical effort: required to lift up to 55 lbs
Environmental stress: high – inside/outside
