Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. operates in a competitive global market producing wide ranging metal-based assemblies and components across a variety of industry sectors including but not limited to Mining, Oil & Gas, Crane and Drag-line Components, Agricultural, Machine building, and Heavy Equipment Manufacturing.

Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. is seeking permanent full-time (minimum of 40 - 50 hours per week) experienced production FITTER to start as soon as possible. We have openings on days and afternoons. We typically operate on a rotating shift of days and afternoons. Our facility is located in Windsor Ontario.

Job Requirements

A minimum of 3 years’ experience of production
English language
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
Able to stand for extended periods work within a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met
Steel-toed safety boots and measuring tape
Current certification or years experience
Be able to read and understand fabrication blueprints
Must be able to use hand tools.
Problem solving abilities highly recommended
Team player with good communication skills
Good understanding of math fundamentals
Duties

Examine blueprints and materials list to obtain parts specifications
Fit and assemble structural frameworks and housings from materials following blueprint
Position parts in jigs and file, chisel, and grind parts, as indicated, to fit them together.
Compare dimensions of assembly to blueprint, using square, rule, and calipers.
Modify parts with hand tools to ensure they meet print requirement
Exam manufacturing processes for improvements
Assist team in looking for better ways to manufacture the parts.
