They perform and assist to oversee the team providing; customer service, preventative maintenance and repair of fitness equipment, instruction, and administration to meet the needs of our guests, while protecting the patrons and properties of the Municipality of Jasper. They support the Fitness & Aquatic Administrative Coordinator to coordinate Fitness Centre staffing, customer service, cash handling, facility rentals, and recreation programing. Work performed: Act as an ambassador for the Community Development Department and the Municipality of Jasper, to the members of the public, staff, and Council; As a member of a team, promote and enable safe and enjoyable experiences for members and guests of the Municipality while at the Fitness & Aquatic Centre through effective lifeguarding and customer service; Communicate effectively and appropriately with the members and guests of the Municipality as well as contractors and Municipal staff, including face-to-face, telephone, print and electronic communications; Understand and follow all applicable Municipal and Facility Policy and Procedures, including the Health and Safety program, to ensure the Fitness & Aquatic Centre remains safe, clean and healthy. Regularly review same; Understand and follow all Emergency Procedures, participate in training to ensure appropriate emergency response and follow up. Regularly review same; Understand and follow the Collective Agreement between the Municipality and C.U.P.E. local 1458. Regularly review same; As operational needs dictate, perform various administrative, operational, custodial and any other job duties as assigned. Position Requirements English Fluency Level required for position Intermediate Job Requirements Qualifications & experience: Your resume and cover letter must clearly describe how you meet the following minimum qualifications: Public Relations and Inter-Departmental Collaboration As a member and leader of a team ensure safe and enjoyable experiences for patrons at the Fitness & Aquatic Centre through effective; facility admission, membership administration, program registration, facility rental services, preventative maintenance and repair of fitness equipment, and any other job duties as required. Effective and appropriate communication with the guests of the Municipality, and other Municipal staff, including face-to-face, telephone, print, and electronic communications. Strategic Leadership Assist to develop, promote and deliver high-quality, appropriate, cost-effective programs in coordination with municipal management, and other levels of government and NGO’s in pursuit of reducing drowning and other water related injuries, as well as opportunities for community building in the local population and visitors. Assist the Fitness & Aquatic Administrative Coordinator to ensure all staff are trained and certified for duties, including; any equipment they will operate, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures. Project and Equipment Management Appropriately lock out, tag out, repair, and coordinate with maintenance department or contractors about damaged equipment as needed, including reporting to the team and public about what was done and timelines for repair or replacement. Ensure the Fitness & Aquatic facilities operate in compliance with Alberta Public Pool Standards, Lifesaving Society Safety Standards, and any other pool specific codes and standards. Assist with maintaining programming calendar in Recreation software, ensuring that all recreational instruction, including aquatic instruction, is input accurately well in advance of the program taking place.
