Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Assistant Director of Engineering the Water Treatment Plant Operator will be responsible for: Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service Follow policies, procedures and service standards Maintain the treatment plant systems according to related Government standards Maintain and operate the filtering and chemical treatment process Conduct regular inspections of the treatment plant systems as well as the physical plant Maintain all related readings and documentation Keep a daily log Ensure an adequate supply of water for human consumption is maintained Prepare work orders for servicing and repairs Prepare activity and work orders reports Recommend the purchase of goods and equipment, and maintain inventory Provide reports to government agencies, departments, and other organizations as required Maintain and operate the filtering and chemical treatment process for the pool and hot tub Follow all safety and sanitation policies Adhere to the hotel's vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel vehicles Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Level 2 Water and Wastewater Operator Certification required Experience operating or maintaining Water Treatment Plant and related equipment required Must be flexible and demonstrate a dedication to the position and community Must have strong decision making and analytical skills. Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and building management system software Must be able to read and understand blueprints and technical manuals Valid Alberta Drivers License required Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Highly responsible & reliable Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Sitting: 4-8 hr/day Walking: 4-8 hr/day Standing: 4-8 hr/day Bending/Reaching: 4-8 hr/day Pushing/pulling: 4-8 hr/day Physical Effort: does not lift weights more than 100 lbs.
