Job Overview
This shared services role is responsible for assisting in the daily, all-seasonal care and maintenance of the Municipality of Jasper's transportation network, grounds, sports fields, turf areas, flower beds/planters, municipal cemeteries, and irrigation and water distribution systems. Additionally, the role involves assisting the Arena Lead Hand and Arena Operators during league play, tournaments and special events to ensure the Arena is clean, appealing, and provides a safe, enjoyable experience for facility users. 

    Work performed:  

Clean Arena facilities, including entrances, bleachers, dressing rooms, and washrooms utilized by patrons.  
Move game nets during floods.  
Assist with the set up and tear down of special events held in the Arena.  
Assist in emergencies when required.  
Maintain all grounds owned and operated by the Municipality of Jasper as directed.  
Assist with the development of new grounds areas.  
Operate equipment necessary for landscaping and assist with roads and streets as required.  
Operate and maintain equipment according to the preventative maintenance program.  
Assist with repairs and maintenance of the transportation network, grounds, sports fields, turf areas, flower beds/planters, municipal cemeteries, and irrigation and municipal water distribution systems.  
Perform routine repairs and report non-routine items to the appropriate supervisor.  
Perform winter duties, including but not limited to snow removal and ice control.  
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements 
Your resume and cover letter must clearly describe how you meet the following minimum qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED   
Intermediate First Aid/CPR/AED Preferred   
WHMIS certification is preferred and a commitment to workplace Health & Safety  
Physically fit and able to perform work that includes light to moderate lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally   
Valid Class 5 driver’s license, preference for Class 3 and Air Brakes  
Forklift certification is preferred  
Knowledge of groundskeeping and winter maintenance practices  
Experience operating equipment related to maintenance  
Experience operating heavy equipment such as a picker truck, backhoe, or bobcat & attachments is preferred
