Our Auto Group is seeking a results-oriented Service Manager for our Domestic OEM Dealership located in Alberta.

In the position of Service Manager, reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating our busy Service Department.

Responsibilities

Oversee and ensure the success of the service department.
Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them; develop plans to maintain the highest level of CEI possible within the guidelines.
Review the KPI targets daily to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability.
Ensure compliance with OEM policies and procedures to maintain high quality of customer service and minimize comebacks.
Monitor warranty reports.
Coach, mentor, and motivate the service team to ensure that performance metrics and operational goals are consistently achieved.
Perform quality control checks in all departments as required.
Support employee professional development and coordinate with senior management to determine the need for technical and apprenticeship training.
Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with provincial, state and local regulations that affect service operations, such as WHMIS and OH&S.
Monitor Technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
Foster relationships with other departments within the dealership.
Ensure Human Resources practices are consistent with best practices and applicable laws.
Keep abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance recruitment activities.
Collaborate proactively with other departments and serve as a liaison with OEM representatives.
Ensure the proper ROI and inventory of special tools.
Prepare pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labour operations.
Serve as a brand ambassador in the community.
Attend related OEM training courses and professional development opportunities.
Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

A minimum of 5 or more years of experience in a service manager capacity.
Journeyman Automotive Technician or Parts ticket or technical experience in the field is considered an asset.
Experience in dealership accounting practices, budgeting and expense management is an asset.
Ability to be professional and deliver excellent customer service with integrity
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
Strong leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills.
