Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage freight effectively. The Truck Driver will also be expected to perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy trucks to transport freight over various distances, ensuring timely delivery.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Load and unload cargo, securing it properly for transport.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding routes, schedules, and any issues encountered during transport.
Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while on the road.
Assist in the operation of forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed for loading and unloading tasks.
Perform minor automotive repairs or maintenance on vehicles when necessary.

Qualifications

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
Experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record.
Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently is a plus.
Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and logistics operations.
Basic knowledge of automotive repair is advantageous for routine maintenance tasks.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
