Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor with an emphasis on mechanical building systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, refrigeration systems, and heat exchangers in a hotel environment. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills to oversee maintenance staff, coordinate preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 per annum based on experience.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
Manage the day-to-day operations of mechanical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and heat exchangers.
Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of mechanical systems.
Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to track maintenance activities, spare parts, and schedules.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and disruptions to hotel operations.
Collaborate with hotel management to address any maintenance challenges or improvements.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and services performed.
Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance services when necessary.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Journeyman Plumber, Refrigeration Technician, or Millwright certification with relevant experience.
Proven experience in a maintenance supervisory role, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and heat exchangers.
Experience with preventative maintenance strategies and CMMS is essential.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and after-hours as needed.
Proficiency in maintenance management software is an asset.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
