Snow Host Volunteers

Summary

This is a volunteer position – commitment of 20 workdays in exchange for a staff season pass with benefits.

Volunteers are on permanent probation period over the duration of their work commitment.

Snow Hosts work as part of the Guest services team. They are responsible for assisting guests as required, primarily in the mezzanine area outside of the ticket windows line and entrance to the Rental Shop / Snow School Desk / Group Sales. They are to provide information on Marmot Basin operations and provide assistance as needed.

Core Competencies

Prior experience in the customer service industry
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Capable of working outside, at times in severe weather environment
Ski Industry experience or any training in dealing with general public

Job Duties

Be the first welcoming contact between Marmot Basin and its guests
Ensure a smooth and orderly flow of walking traffic in the mezzanine area
Provide information regarding the mountain operations, facilities, schedules, events and conditions
Assist the Transportation team with directing vehicles and flow of traffic
Anticipate and resolve guests needs
Identify safety concerns pertaining to staff and guests - work in a safe and efficient manner
Report any problems, safety concerns to the Snow Host Coordinator
Respect and adherence of the company’s policies and procedures as set in the “Employee Handbook”
Understanding and adherence to Ski Marmot Basin ’s “Harassment Policy” and the company’s “Privacy Policy”
