By providing guests with in-depth interpretive material, you will be enhancing our guests experience and guiding them throughout the attraction and ensuring that they receive the best possible service prior to, and after they visit the attraction. You will learn and interpret everything from local wildlife, fauna, geology and even glaciers. This is a multi-faceted position and can include any, or all the following: Delivering exceptional interpretive information to guests from around the world Providing guests with a guided tour experience that can run anywhere between 30 – 45 minutes depending on group volume Rotating through various interpretive stations and ensuring the safety of guests and staff Performing 10 – 15 minute presentations to large groups Being proactive with maintenance issues and safety concerns Managing tour groups, tour departures and arrivals, loading and unloading coaches when needed Reporting safety issues to the Manager and Supervisor in a timely manner Validating tickets as guests arrive to the Columbia Icefield Skywalk Providing information to guests in an interpretive setting Distributing Audio Tours to guests Attracting guest attention for outgoing guided tours Cleaning, maintaining and providing guests with an interpretive experience on the glass platform Maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the entire attraction Ticket sales and voucher processing, as required Delivering interpretive content to guests. Training will be provided Other duties as assigned by the Skywalk leadership team What skills and experience do you need for this job?: Organization and time management skills are a must, but a passion for making a difference for each guest is the most important aspect of this position! Able to stay busy and always seek out the next task Energetic individuals with a passion for the mountains and everything about them! Must get excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environment Able to work both independently and in our team-based environment A fantastic sense of humor as well as a friendly, mature, energetic personality Charismatic and comfortable with speaking to large groups Previous interpretive guiding experience an asset Able to stand and work outside in varying mountain weather conditions (snow, rain, wind, hail) for the entire duration of a shift Commitment to becoming an interpretive expert and ambassador through the completion of a week-long interpretive training program (provided upon starting employment) Guest service-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering memorable experiences Class 5 driver’s license (with clean abstract) an asset but not required Ability to think on the fly and outside the box to solve problems with a positive attitude Must meet Pursuit grooming and appearance standards To honour our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record check Standard First-Aid or higher an asset What will your work environment be like?: This fun, summer job runs from immediately until October 10, 2022.
