RMSI-JTAC - Jasper, AB Full-Time and Part-Time SkyTram Guides / Operators Jasper Skytram, 1 Whistler Mountain Road, Jasper, Alberta, Canada Req #87 Tuesday, July 20, 2021 Summary The Jasper SkyTram is currently recruiting both full-time and part-time seasonal Guides/Operators! Full-time employees work split shifts from mid-May to early September – rotate between morning and afternoon shifts and working 5/7 days per week. The first 90 days of employment is a probationary period. The SkyTram Guide is a unique position, which requires an upbeat and animated individual who enjoys dealing with and speaking directly to small groups. You will be enhancing our guests experience with information about Jasper SkyTram and the town of Jasper, as well as on local history, wildlife, and geology related to the area. SkyTram Operators must also have the confidence to operate the tram and communicate efficiently with the entire lift operations department. This position also provides the unique opportunity to rotate throughout the day between the Car Operator, Ticket Checker and the General Duties/Guest Relations positions. Core Competencies Ability to work well as part of a team Strong communication and public speaking abilities Performing 10 – 15 minute presentations to small groups Passion for working with and dealing with the public Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Reliable Ability to make quick, well-informed decisions Ability to maintain a calm and friendly composure under periods of stress Comfortable working at high elevations Previous lift operations and guide experience an asset Customer service orientated Job Duties Car Operator Have a good working knowledge of passenger evacuation safety procedures Conduct lift evacuations from tram car at heights of up to 60 meters Learn and interpret everything from local wildlife, fauna, geology and National Park history Conduct an informative speech/presentation during the tram flight Loading and unloading passengers onto the tram cars Running the tram Ticket Checker Scan all tickets when entering lobby/pre-boarding area Greet and interact with guests prior to their tram ride Keep track of daily flight logs Monitor weather – lightning and winds Ensure the proper timing of flight departures Loading and unloading passengers onto the tram cars General Duties/Guest Relations Loading and unloading passengers onto the tram cars Keeping the property clean and tidy, empty garbage’s and recycling Snow removal Answer customer questions Delivering items around the property Assisting customers, directing people around the property Help Upper Station Shift Leader in the afternoons with crowd control Cleaning duties Notes: All Jasper SkyTram employees must complete the required training, including accompanying training checklists, with the end goal of becoming familiar with operating systems and procedures All Jasper SkyTram employees will conduct themselves in compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to their job.
