Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated, licensed Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various excavation equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The Equipment Technician will need to work collaboratively with team members to meet operational goals.

Duties

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, heavy machinery.
Assemble and disassemble equipment as needed for repairs or upgrades.
Conduct welding tasks to repair or fabricate parts for machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
Operate heavy equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory using fleet management software.
Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance overall efficiency.
Requirements

Proven experience in mechanical repair, preferably in an industrial setting.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively including the use of diagnostic software.
Experience operating heavy equipment and trucks safely.
Ability to perform welding tasks as required.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing technologies.
We are a small family operated excavation contracting company. We have been in business for 25+ years. We currently have one heavy duty technician apprentice working in our shop and one mobile contract technician that looks after field service. We are looking to add another Heavy Duty Tech technician in our shop that can work collaboratively with our existing team to organize maintenance and repairs in a timely fashion. Our fleet is a mixture of brands, the majority of which is John Deere. We strive to provide a positive work environment that is free from the politics and drama that exist at many larger organizations. This is reflected in the fact that we do not have high employee turnover and many of our staff have been with us for 10+ years. We are looking for a candidate that’s looking for a long term position and is interested in being a part of our company as it grows. The proposed starting wage of $50/hr is a starting point and can be negotiated based an applicants level of experience as a heavy duty technician and also in leadership roles.
