Full job description
Our client, a leading infrastructure construction firm in Vancouver, BC, has a strong track record of delivering major projects, including the Broadway Subway and Surrey-Langley SkyTrain. They are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations on large-scale civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage daily on-site construction activities, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations.
Supervise and mentor foremen, field engineers, and junior site staff, fostering their development and ensuring effective team coordination.
Plan and coordinate labour, equipment, and materials to optimize project efficiency and minimize downtime.
Work closely with Project Managers and subcontractors to address site challenges, implement solutions, and maintain project schedules.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, conducting regular inspections and enforcing compliance with site-specific and industry safety standards.
Monitor quality control and adherence to project specifications, identifying and resolving any issues proactively.
Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, including project teams, clients, engineers, and regulatory bodies.
Conduct site meetings, progress updates, and daily reports to track project milestones and address any emerging issues.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
10+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on large infrastructure projects (e.g., transit, highways, bridges, or utilities).
Experience leading field crews, subcontractors, and site operations on complex construction projects.
Strong ability to mentor and develop junior site staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and professional growth.
In-depth understanding of construction methods, scheduling, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts to guide construction execution.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing site conditions and project challenges.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
