Quality Railway Services is looking to fill positions for Mark IV Tamper Operator. There is lots of room for growth within our company as we are a very fast growing company. We are based out of Stony plain but we work throughout western Canada. Prior experience is required.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Surfacing Supervisor
Mark IV Tamper Operator is responsible for safe operations of Mark IV Tamper
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations
Decrease turnaround times
Streamline work processes
Work can be anywhere in Western Canada.
Requirements:

Experience with Mark IV Tamper: Minimum 1 year experience
Valid Class 5 Drivers License: Valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
Fit For Duty: Criminal record check and drug/fitness screening
CROR: Pass all railway operating exams
Availability: Be available to work all planned shifts
Flexibility: Ability to work in different locations and shifts
Work Boots: 8" heel steel toe boots
Character: Team Player, Willingness to adapt, Positive work ethic.
Responsibilities:

The Mark IV Tamper Operator provides leadership and is responsible for, although not limited to:

Profound equipment operating/maintenance experience
Physical fitness, since a Mark IV Tamper operator must have the physical capacity to lift heavy loads with ease since the job involves lifting heavy machine parts
Well-developed communication and teamwork skills, since a Mark IV Tamper operator must work closely with a team and must also communicate clearly and effectively to ensure that everything runs smoothly
Hand-eye-foot coordination, since a Mark IV Tamper operator must have steady hands and feet to guide and control the heavy machinery
Good mechanical skills, since he/she must carry out basic maintenance on the equipment he/she operates
Maneuvering motorized heavy equipment to ensure the accurate use of the machine
Observing stipulated safety codes at all times.
Communicating with coworkers to elucidate project specifications, as needed.
Reporting injuries and other accidents to the line manager.
Advising the supervisor of requisite upgrades, repairs, and replacements.
Providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency
Ensuring safety and security
Ensuring cleanliness of equipment interior and exterior
