JOB DESCRIPTION

Fairmont/Accor Canada's Western Mountain Collection is embarking on an exciting transformation as many of our iconic mountain resorts experience multi-phase renovations and repositioning. Great opportunity to join our winning team and represent five iconic resorts in Western Canada; Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Chateau Whistler & Rimrock Resort Hotel (an Accor hotel). We are seeking a high energy Sales Coordinator who is extremely dedicated to her/his job and is willing to ?go the extra mile? and able to ?think out of the box.?? We are looking for a hospitality career professional, who is interested in beginning a career in Sales and has a strong desire to excel, and exceed the expectations of our guests. This position is based out of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director of Group Sales of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Coordinating and supporting all aspects of sales activities including taking initial inquiries, generating leads, proposals, referrals and contracts, blocking space etc.
Process proposals and contracts as required
Liaise with clients in absence of sales manager
Process returns of contracts and distribute through proper channels internally
Coordinate specific marketing initiatives involving Revenue Streams
Possess and share knowledge of Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Fairmont Chateau Whistler and Rimrock Resort Hotel products including accommodation, meeting facilities, history and heritage, activities and local programming
After appropriate training and development, participate in site inspections, familiarization tours, trade shows and functions within the hotel, as required, and in the absence of the Sales Manager
Actively participate in industry and hotel training programs
Be an effective team player within the Sales team of Canada's Western Mountain Collection and with other team members in Catering and Conventions, Guest Services, Food and Beverage and other key areas within the hotel and the region
Actively seek opportunities to improve systems and procedures
Willing to manage additional responsibilities and duties as required
Participate in at least one hotel committee (e.g. Health & Safety Committee)
Attend all Sales meetings and other meetings as required
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum one year experience in hotel environment (ideally in Sales, Reservation, Conference Service or Front Office)
Excellent communication skills and English; second foreign language a definite asset
Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows
Knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering / Opera Sales Force Automation and Property Manager are assets
Highly detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills
Articulate, self-motivated, energetic and positive team-player
Confident, well-groomed, pleasant telephone and personal disposition
Knowledge of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Chateau Whistler and Rimrock Resort Hotel, heritage, facilities and programs are a definite asset
Desire to learn and advance within the Sales and Marketing team/division
Enjoys challenges, works well under time pressure, thinks ahead and is extremely committed to the job
Graduate of Hospitality Degree / Diploma program a definite asset
Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
