Job Overview
The Bar Supervisor supports the day-to-day operations of the bar and acts as a shift lead, working closely with the Bar Manager, restaurant team, and hotel leadership to ensure a consistently high level of service and hospitality. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance operational duties with team management.

The Bar Supervisor is expected to lead by example during service, providing mentorship and direction to bar staff, assisting with scheduling and training, and ensuring the bar is run efficiently, safely, and in line with both brand standards and local regulations.

This position is ideal for a seasoned bartender ready to take on more responsibility or an existing supervisor looking to work in a close-knit, community-oriented environment.

 

Job Description

Leadership & Team Support

Act as the lead bartender and point of contact for front-of-house staff during assigned shifts
Provide on-the-floor guidance, support, and coaching to bartenders and barbacks
Foster a positive, respectful, and professional work environment for the entire team
Help with onboarding and training new bar staff, ensuring consistency in service and drink execution
Assist with staff scheduling and shift coverage as needed
Operations & Service Excellence

Ensure bar operations run smoothly and efficiently during all shifts
Maintain exceptional service standards, addressing any guest concerns promptly and professionally
Execute and oversee the preparation and presentation of cocktails, beer, and wine to a high standard
Monitor pace and flow of service, adjusting staffing and prep accordingly
Inventory & Compliance

Assist with bar inventory tracking, ordering, and restocking
Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of all bar products
Enforce compliance with liquor laws, food safety standards, and health regulations
Help manage waste, portion control, and cost-efficiency measures
Collaboration & Communication

Coordinate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a seamless guest experience
Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and management
Participate in team meetings, menu planning, and special events
Provide feedback and insights to the Bar Manager on staff performance, guest preferences, and operational needs
Additional Responsibilities

Open and/or close the bar depending on shift schedule
Perform basic cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of bar equipment
Uphold the aesthetic and atmosphere of the bar space, including music, lighting, and cleanliness
Contribute to seasonal cocktail development and special programming

Position Requirements
English Fluency Level required for position
Advanced
Job Requirements 
Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume setting
Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in a hospitality environment (bar or restaurant preferred)
Strong working knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine
Experience with inventory systems, cash handling, and POS software
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support a team during fast-paced service
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and make confident decisions on the floor
