Position: Prep Cook

Wage: $17+ (Based on Experience) + Gratuities

Hours: PT / FT

Description:


A prep cook is an entry-level position in a kitchen that assists the chef and other staff with preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients for various recipes
Following the chef's instructions and recipes to prepare sauces, salads, soups, and other dishes
Storing and labeling food items in the appropriate containers and refrigerators
Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen equipment, utensils, counters, and floors
Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards and regulations
Receiving delivery orders

Requirements:


Basic cooking skills and knowledge of kitchen tools and equipment
The ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately under pressure
The ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and stand for long periods
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle dough and tools
Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
