Position: Head Barista

Wage: $18+ (Based on Experience) + Gratuities

Hours: FT

Description:


A Head Barista is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a cafe, including staff management, customer service, inventory control, and financial performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, teas, and smoothies
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in the coffee bar
Monitor and order coffee supplies, equipment, and accessories
Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of coffee machines and grinders
Create and update coffee menus and specials
Train new and existing baristas on coffee preparation techniques, recipes, and customer service skills
Provide feedback and coaching to baristas to improve their performance
Handle customer complaints and queries in a professional and courteous manner
Manage inventory, cash flow, and daily reports

Requirements:


Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
2 years of experience as a barista in a high-volume coffee shop
Knowledge of current cafe trends and best practices
Excellent knowledge of different types of coffee, roasts, blends, and brewing methods
Ability to operate and troubleshoot various coffee machines and equipment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems
Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and stand for long periods
Attention to detail and accuracy
Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Food Safe Certificate & Class 5 (or equivalent) an asset
