Maintenance Technician Level 2

POSITION SUMMARY:

The maintenance technician level 2 position is responsible for the upkeep of all equipment and property facilities with minimal downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance. Completing work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotel standard operating procedures while following direction from management. Continually working towards and supporting the improvement of maintenance service to guests, other departments, and fellow staff. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager. This is a seasonal position until October 15, with a possibility of extension.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Respond and attend to guest repair requests.

· Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests.

· Understand and operate electrical, plumbing, boiler systems, pool treatment, carpentry, wall repairs, painting, etc.

· Communicate with team and other departments as required.

· Check for new maintenance requests.

· Set up and break down event spaces as needed.

· Respond to guest requests, assisting with questions, and addressing any issues or complaints while maintaining a professional demeanor.

· Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units.

· Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.

· Ability to work under pressure and exercise good judgement.

· Ability to focus attention on details with efficiency and accuracy.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.

· Ability to ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.

· Ability to read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals.

· Perform maintenance activities in guest rooms and public spaces such as but not limited to: plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners / HVAC and AC ducts.

· Program TV's and room door locks.

· Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.

· Clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools, vehicles, and equipment for the property.

· Maintain a current driver’s licence and take training to operate site equipment including but not limited to: Site vehicles, skid loader, snow blower, lawn mower, snow plow truck and sweeper.

· Perform daily pre operation inspection checklists of all equipment and vehicles used.

· Operate all site vehicles in a safe manner following the INN Hotels vehicle use policy.

· Ensure personal availability for any emergencies and act in a maintenance capacity to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.

· Monitor fire alarm / life safety systems as necessary, and report and issues in a timely manner to management.

· Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdown.

· Carry out specific oral and written instructions.

· Maintain maintenance inventory and submit requests for parts and supplies as needed.

· Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional adhering to company grooming policies.

· Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

· Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Technician Level 3, and General Manager.

PREREQUISITES:

· Knowledge of building maintenance with positive attitude, good communication skills and committed to delivering a high level of customer service.

· Current and valid Class 5 driver’s license; Drivers Abstract is required.

· Safety training is considered an asset (fall arrest, first aid etc.)

· Successful completion of a criminal background check

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role

· Good understanding of English, both written and oral.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
