Front Desk Agent – Jasper Inn & Suites

Job Summary:

As a team our goal is to create an unforgettable, picture-perfect experience for our guests. Your role in that goal is very important! At Jasper Inn, our Front Desk Team wears most of the hats of a traditional hotel - from reservation specialist to activities director; our Front Desk Agents do it all!

Full time, 40 hrs a week, year round
Starting Wage of $17/hour

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for the Check in and Departure of hotel guests.
Answer the hotel phone, both internal and external calls.
Be an expert on local and onsite services and be able to provide information about them.
Sell and book local activities. Commission on some bookings.
Use accurate accounting and cash handling procedures.
Respond promptly and appropriately to guest requests.
Communicate very effectively with all other departments within the hotel.
Maintain an accurate inventory of rooms, reservations, and room assignments.
Manage reservations made by phone, email and through OTA’s.
Represent the culture of the Jasper Inn & Suites and build repeat guests.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:

You are a team player who is excited to create a wonderful experience for the guests of Jasper Inn! You are positive, driven and have a 'glass half full' outlook on life. Your other traits include:

A passion for customer service and a strong attention to detail.
Energetic, flexible, reliable, respectful, hands-on individual with initiative and integrity.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent organizational, communication and people skills.
Friendly and pleasant demeanor, courteous, self-motivated, and professional.
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work different shift hours and stand for an entire shift.
Good PC skills: knowledge of Opera PMS is preferred, but not necessary.
Previous Front Desk and/or Customer Service experience is preferred.
Relevant education and experience in a hospitality or tourism setting.
Excellent verbal and written English, a second language is an asset.
