Job Description

Colleague Services Houseperson


As a dynamic member of the Staff Services Team, this position focuses on ensuring the well-being of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge's employees and residents. This role has an integral impact on the satisfaction and comfort of residents (our guests) in colleague accommodation.

Rate of Pay: Starting at $16.30 per hour. Full rate after one year is $17.42 per hour.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Colleague Residence Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Clean staff cabins including washrooms and hallways
Clean apartments (Sir Henry Thornton Village)
Clean and maintain all staff areas (outside grounds, R&R room, training room & laundry rooms)
Stock and label supply closets
Operate vacuums and carpet shampooing equipment
Assist in all duties of the linen room
Ensure all vacant rooms are clean and properly set up
Move furniture
Report all maintenance problems
Light maintenance duties (clean sink taps, unplug toilets)
Execute the mail run on occasion
Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Housekeeping/janitorial experience an asset
Must hold a Current Drivers License
Trustworthy, reliable, responsible and dependable
Must be very flexible and be able to work all shifts
Must be in good physical condition
Must have good verbal communication skills
Self motivated and able to work independently
Well organized and good at prioritizing and time management
Your team and working environment:

Standing: 4-6 hrs/day
Walking: 4-6 hr/day
Bending/reaching: 3 hr/day
Pushing/pulling: 1-2 hr/day
Physical effort: does not lift weights over 100 lbs, some repetitive motion
Visual effort: medium, detail oriented
Environmental stress: high - works in hot/cold conditions, constant inside/outside conditions, some slippery or congested conditions, working alone and in group situations
Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel
Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer
