KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Be a trusted and reliable source of information for the destination.

· Increase member leads by proactively encouraging visitors to experience more and make recommendations that will enhance their stay in Jasper National Park.

· Maintain a knowledge base about attractions, experiences, services, and events to promote the destination in a positive and professional manner while encouraging visitors to venture beyond.

· Proactively engage with visitors through offsite or mobile visitor information centres, bicycle, etc

· Listen and respond to needs of visitors through multiple channels which includes in person, by telephone, email, online live chat and other channels including front line local inquiries.

· Complete administrative tasks such as preparing reports, and collecting and entering visitor statistics, vacancy reports, and business referrals

· Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

· Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, outgoing and dynamic personality

· Active listener with strong verbal and written communications skills with ease and comfort of English. Ability to proofread written communication is required.

· Sincere interest in delivering a strong customer service experience while proactively interacting with visitors each day

· Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

· Preference will be given to candidates with some post-secondary education in tourism, hospitality, customer service, sales experience and/or related fields

· Computer skills (including Microsoft office) are essential

· Knowledge of a second language is an asset but not a requirement

· Ability to demonstrate a strong working relationship with colleagues and work in a team setting

· Highly responsible and reliable

PHYSICAL ASPECTS (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)

· Frequent standing and walking throughout shift

· Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting. Up to 7 lbs or 15kgs

· Frequent ascending or descending stairs and ramps

· Working outside for periods at a time
