What will you do in this job?:
Primarily focused on leading a culture of consistently improving guest service, employee engagement, and financial results at Miette Mountain Cabins. The successful candidate must have solid experience in multiple operational departments. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, Jasper Lodging, the successful candidate will play a key role in providing leadership, direction and support.
Collaborates with peers in the development of the hotel’s strategic plan, business plan and play a key role in the implementation and adjustment of plans
Manage Front Office operations, and oversee operations of the Hotel
Ensure all Front Desk team members are properly trained
Manage the development of capital projects and renovations from an operational viewpoint, and the implementation of plan
Ensure financial outlooks for hotel is at or above plan, working with division/department heads on proactively responding to business trends and challenges to meet or exceed hotel targets
Works with all operations to ensure exceptional guest experience, evaluating where and when processes, procedure or policy improvements may be effective
Acts as a representative for the Hotel with our key business partners, developing new partnerships and maintaining relationships for best business outcomes and community relations
Act as a guide and a role model for all members of our team to ensure the processes, procedures and standards are consistently delivered
Identifies broadly impacting challenges, resolving and managing cross- departmental service issues
Meet regularly with the Jasper Lodging Hotel Managers, Director of Operations and VP, Lodging
Conduct weekly room inspections for cleanliness and maintenance
Manage relationships with internal & external guests to understand short- and long-term needs, develop strategies, manage expectations and assess the level of satisfaction with services provided
Increase leaderships effectiveness and consistency by assisting in recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, and performance managing
Develop and participate in the succession planning processes to ensure all members of the team receive the necessary coaching and development to grow the talent of tomorrow from within the organization and support the developmental needs of the employee and organization
Proactively manage budget and resources to meet business plan key performance indicators for guest experience, margin and financial improvements
Developing, implementing and maintaining superior standard operating procedures (e.g. safety, customer service, emergency procedures)
Lead communication during an incident and ensure emergency and first-aid response and documentation to accidents & incidents, both on and off property
Ensuring adherence of operations to Pursuit and Viad policies and procedures
Upholds the “Always Honest” values
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
3-5 years’ experience participating strategically and operationally at a management level
Post-Secondary diploma/degree in hospitality management or related discipline
A leader in your field, your experience would preferably include a strong background in front office and extensive rooms division experience
An innovative thinker who provides solutions to ensure support of guest and employee needs
Proven team-builder with outstanding motivational skills and coaching ability
High degree of attention to detail and professionalism
Demonstrated commitment to finding new and better ways of working by applying learning, feedback and experience
Results oriented with the ability to be flexible
Energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated and prepared to exceed our guest and employee expectations
