Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Banquets, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards Prepare and expedite beverages to guests and/or servers in a timely and efficient manner Lead and provide assistance to a team of bartenders by training, coordinating, and organizing to maximize productivity and efficiency Sell and up-sell menu and beverage in a knowledgeable and professional manner Project a pleasant and positive professional image to guests at all times Assist with performing daily and monthly inventory Maintain adequate product levels through weekly review of BEO's and ordering Create beverage price lists and featured cocktails signage per function Plan set up of upcoming events to assist the Banquet Management Team with preparing and executing functions Maintain bars and equipment while ensuring storage areas neat and organized Organize and orchestrate last minute changes and additions Knowledge of mixology, creating unique, new and innovative recipes Ensure that all Bartenders operate within the regulations set by the ALCB Adhere to the hotel's vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles Conduct pre-function briefing meetings with bartenders Follow departmental policies and procedures Follow all safety and sanitation policies Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Minimum 1 year bartending experience required Previous leadership experience required Previous experience in a banquet or convention setting preferred Valid Alberta Drivers' License required Pro Serve certificate required Excellent knowledge of cocktails, beer, scotch, port, wine and spirits required Micros POS experience an asset Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Highly responsible & reliable Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Sitting: 0-1 hr/day Walking: 6-8 hr/day Standing: 6-8 hr/day Bending/reaching: 4-6 hr/day Pushing/pushing: 4-6 hr/day Physical effort: required to lift up to 50 lbs Environmental stress: high – busy and loud atmosphere Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
